Calling all SRQ Foodies! New restaurants in Sarasota are opening left and right and we want you to have all the details. Head out for lunch or dinner and give them a try. If you’re a real foodie, you won't want to miss a chance to explore some new delicacies and support a new local business too!

Siegfried’s Restaurant

Authentic German Cuisine is taking over Downtown Sarasota! But Siegfried's Restaurant is more than just that, they also are opening up a Bier Garten inside of their central Sarasota location. They will specialize in authentic German cuisine with a twist, so you can try the soft pretzels and other typical German fares, but expect the unexpected as well!

Nancy’s Bar-B-Q

Nancy’s Bar-B-Q is bringing traditional southern BBQ and all that comes with it to Sarasota! With their upbeat atmosphere and cafeteria-style process, they offer all of your favorite house-smoked meats and sides. The smell of the slow-smoked BBQ will draw you in from blocks away!

Oak & Stone

Oak & Stone is a bright and airy brewpub that serves some of the best bites on University Parkway. They offer your typical pub grub and artisan pizzas alongside some really delicious craft beers and cocktails. The artisanal wood-fired pizzas are hand-crafted with dough that is fermented for more than 24 hours with triple filtered water and sauce that will have you craving another pizza in no-time. Stop by for the next big game and catch up with friends around the bar at Oak & Stone.

Bavaro’s

Looking for Italian food like Grandma used to make? Head to Bavaro’s in Downtown Sarasota for some quality Italian that will make you wonder if your family secrets got out! This cozy and brick-walled trattoria has wood-fired pizzas and rustic pastas, so if you’re on the hangry side, this is a good place to check out!

SoFresh

If you’re trying to be good and not eat salty and over-processed food, check out SoFresh. It’s one of Tampa Bay’s favorite healthy spots, so the owners thought, why not bring it to Sarasota, too! SoFresh offers salads, bowls and wraps that are both healthy and big enough to satisfy you all afternoon. Check them out the next time you’re trying to stick with your diet and grab a bite to eat.

Shake Shack

Now, we’ve all heard of Shake Shack and their incredibly tasty burgers and fries, but now is your time to finally try them! Shake Shack has opened their first West Coast (of Florida) location at the University Mall in Sarasota so the next time you’ve shopped till you feel like you can drop, grab a burger to fill you up. My suggestion: Try the SmokeShack! The chopped cherry pepper changed the game for me, and it can do the same for you!

Daily Bird

We all know that it’s hard to beat Publix fried chicken, especially in Florida! However, Daily Bird is coming close. The offer buns, bones, bits and bowls that are filled with your favorite crispy and salty fried chicken. The first thing on the menu I plan on trying is the “Trashville Hot” chicken sandwich. It’s both spicy, sweet (due to the coleslaw) and looks absolutely delicious. Check out their full menu for all of the options they offer!

Athens Family Restaurant

Athens Family Restaurant is another fabulous and authentic greek restaurant that recently opened in Sarasota. They offer all of your Greek favorites like baklava, avgolemono soup and BLTs. One of their best menu items is their Pastichio, a slightly sweet, mostly savory balance of meat, cheese, tender noodles, baked with a flavorful bechamel sauce, crowned with an egg topping similar to souffle, light, airy, & a bit of Heaven on a Fork. Head there today, as they are open till 6 p.m. every day of the week!
