Old Salty Dog is a Sarasota favorite! They've got seafood and American staples sure to please everyone at your table. Their conch fritters are delicious!
Pros: Three locations - Siesta Key, City Island, and Venice Island!

The most beautiful beach in Florida, possibly in the United States, maybe on earth, and thus likely in the universe.
Pros: It's gorgeous with sugar white sand, perfect waters, flawless sunsets, and plenty of tiny haunts nearby that serve delicious food & drinks... including lots of fresh seafood.
Cons: So many people doing weddings on Friday & Saturday nights you might have your guests watching the special day of another bride and groom several hundred yards away.

This place is such a staple to the Sarasota area and is just the perfect style beach area restaurant. A must try whether a local or just visiting.
Pros: Delicious food.

About Longboat Key

Quiet and serene, Longboat Key is the perfect Florida island getaway. A private barrier island off the west coast of central Florida, Longboat Key has some of the best beaches in the state.

The beaches are mostly private, but there are beach access points with limited parking on Longview Drive, Westfield Street, Mayfield Street and Neptune Avenue. If you are staying at one of the many resorts, you will find the beaches uncrowded and perfect for seashell hunting. Longboat Key is known for sand dollars so head to the beach after an early morning high tide and you may get lucky!

Accomodations in Longboat Key range from high rise condominiums and resorts to efficiency apartments and single-family homes. Most have private ocean beach access or access to Sarasota Bay.

There are several miles of well-maintained bike paths in Longboat Key. The paved paths run the length of Gulf of Mexico Drive. Bike rentals are available along the route and many companies will deliver to your hotel or rental villa.

Looking for drinks at sunset? Be sure to check out the appropriately named Sunset Bar and Grill. For an elegant, romantic meal, visit Euphemia Haye. After your meal, retire to the Haye Loft for fine desserts, aperitifs and live music.

Relax and enjoy Florida in Longboat Key.
