Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

If you love musicals, chances are you’ve at least heard of this show. Sarasota Asolo Repertory Theatre welcomes the classic to the stage. Watch the dark tale of a young barber looking for revenge. With murder, romance, and mystery weaved into the plot, you’ll be gripping the edge of your seat. Sweeney Todd will show May 1 through May 10.

Jack Mosley: A Man and His Music

Looking for a great place to relax and hang out with friends? Visit Common Grounds Meeting Hall on May 3 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. You’ll be able to enjoy the musical stylings of Jack Mosely. Mosely is nationally recognized for his talent for singing and writing songs. This performance will be one you don’t forget. Get your tickets in advance for just $15.

47th Annual Amateur Sand Sculpture Contest

Siesta Key Beach is home to ocean life, gorgeous ocean views, and soft sand. This weekend, the beach will also be filled with unique sand sculptures made by Sarasota residents of all ages. Interested in creating your own sand art? Head to the yellow lifeguard stand at 8:30 a.m. on May 4 to register.

Englewood Market - Outdoors

On May 4 beginning at 9 a.m., the Englewood Event Center will host more than 90 local vendors selling delicious food, refreshing drinks, and other wonderful items. This shopping event has no admission cost. Just bring what you want to spend. The event ends at 3 p.m.

Sarasota Veg Fest 2019 Are you passionate about health and the environment? If so, the Sarasota Veg Fest is an event you don’t want to miss. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 4, the Sarasota County Fairgrounds will bring like-minded people from all over the country to educate children and adults on the importance of health and respect for the world. Featuring speakers, vendors, educators, and entertainers who are all as passionate about these topics as you are, all ages can enjoy this experience for just a $5 donation per attendee.

Braden River Bluegrass Festival

Bring the entire family out and experience an often underrated genre of music. Local bands will perform Bluegrass music while you and your family enjoy what Linger Lodge Restaurant & RV Campground has to offer. Children under 10 years old get in free. For everyone else, there is just a $15 admission fee. Enjoy a delicious meal while listening to Sarasota bands including Penny Creek, Keith Bass and the Florida Bluegrass Express, and more!

Music Fest and Bottle Release at JDub's Brewing Co

JDub's Brewing Company & Tap Room welcomes Sarasota locals to enjoy an entire day dedicated to relaxation. With beer, music, and a bottle release being announced, you’ll be able to forget your worries from the week. Pizza will be served out front. Always up for a free beverage? Be sure to put on your best Derby hat for a free beer

Derby Day at Camelot East Village

Both members and non-members are invited to visit Camelot East Village on May 4 from 2 to 5 p.m. Join other derby lovers for salads, sandwiches, chips, and drink to celebrate the derby together. Derby Day is just $7 for members and $12 for non-members.
