The Pineapple Drop in Sarasota is back! This free annual Downtown Sarasota event has been bringing over 20,000 people to the area to enjoy free amusement rides, food and beer concessions, live music and the pineapple drop at midnight! Sponsored by the Sarasota Merchants Association, the pineapple drops at the corner of Main Street and Lemon Avenue. A fireworks display over the bay immediately follows. Perfect for some New Year's Eve fun in Sarasota!

This year's event will be at the historic waterfront Sarasota Municipal Auditorium. One of the remaining Art Deco gems in our area, the Auditorium is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Stunning hardwood floors, gorgeous nighttime views of Sarasota Bay, and soaring cathedral ceilings will provide the perfect backdrop for the biggest and most inclusive New Year's Eve celebration in the region.

SRQNYE gets started promptly at 9 p.m. with free valet parking and a red carpet entrance, then find your party groove with bottomless champagne and a top-shelf open bar. A huge range of delicious, chef-created appetizers will be provided by Premiere Catering and JPan Sushi. The Auditorium's enormous and luxurious dancefloor awaits your best moves, powered by live entertainment from the amazingly awesome Reverend Barry and the Funk - and DJ and entertainer extraordinaire JAC of All Trades will keep the party moving through the New Year toast and into the evening. It's all for a good cause too - the Mayor's Feed the Hungry program is the beneficiary of the festivities.
