New Year’s Eve is a time for celebrating the end of a year as well as new beginnings, and what better way to celebrate than with the whole family? The Sarasota area has several activities that welcome parents and children alike, so get ready to ring in the new year together at one of these family-friendly New Year’s Eve events in Sarasota!
A full twelve-hour celebration will take place on the corner of Lemon Street and Main Street beginning at 1:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Walk through the shops and enjoy the restaurants in Downtown Sarasota. Live music will be performed throughout the night. The event will end with a spectacular fireworks display and pineapple drop that the entire family will remember for years to come.
At 6 p.m. on December 31, take the family out for a night of fun at Historic Spanish Point. With bonfires, kid’s crafts, and snacks, you and your family will start the new year right. Family-centered activities such as marshmallow roasting will also occur throughout the night. Tickets are $15 for adults and children over 12 years of age and $7 for children 12 years old and younger.
Just outside Sarasota, a great family-friendly event will be taking place at Fishermen's Village in Punta Gorda starting at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. With magic shows, live performances, face painting, and photo booth, there’s so much for everyone in the family to enjoy. The New Year will begin with a bang as fireworks light up the night sky at midnight.

Beginning at 9:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and ending at 12:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Sarasota Lanes will host three hours of bowling as part of their Family Fun New Year’s Eve Party. The event also includes pizza, snacks, and prizes. Everyone in the family is sure to love bowling their way into the New Year!
This event is one that not only welcomes children but benefits children as well! Starting at midnight on New Year’s Day, find a spot in Downtown Sarasota including Bayfront Park and Island Park and nestle down with the kids for an amazing fireworks show that’s sure to leave their little eyes sparkling. The fireworks show benefits Suncoast Charities for Children.
