Venice 2018 Sports Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine and Specialty Update Conference in Venice, Florida a few blocks from the beach!
October 1-6, 2018 (Classes 8am-1pm, and hands on labs 7pm-9pm)
This conference strives to give the physician knowledge and practical experience to correctly incorporate moderate longitudinal exercise safely into their patient’s care plan while giving the attendee measures to enhance provider satisfaction and exciting updates on developments in specialty medicine. Multi-dimensional medical providers such as Athletic Trainers, Nurses, Exercise physiologists, psychologists, Nutritionists, Residents, Medical Students, Pre-medical careers students are encouraged to register. Evening optional hands-on labs offered at no additional cost. Venice, Florida is a lovely coastal town with an emphasis on sports and relaxation on calm, warm, tropical, clear water beaches
This multi-specialty educational conference will feature three academic tracks:
Endurance and Sports Medicine for the Provider: Providers will analyze, in depth, human performance in endurance activities with an emphasis on life long aerobic type distance events such as running and cycling. Gait analysis, cycle fit, Urology of cycling, special issues in the female athlete, elderly athlete, pediatric athlete and disabled athlete are discussed. Head trauma including concussions, the runner’s foot and incorporation of tracking data into the clinical care plan as well as proper athlete nutrition and hydration and elemental exposure complete this track. Hands on experiential learning labs will be done to integrate and practice these new evaluations.
LifeStyle Medicine for Provider and Patient: We as providers are experiencing an epidemic of physician burnout, stress and low satisfaction with practice climate. The provider will learn techniques to analyze and try to decrease stress, decrease burnout and lead to increased professional satisfaction. With Nature and exercise as medical plan inclusions, the provider will learn to translate these to the patient and encourage patients to be more compliant with a health plan that includes nature and exercise. Evening labs include time with “green” as in Japanese Forest Bathing, Yo
