Brenda Joyce Watty was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and began singing in Gospel Choir at a young age. She moved to NYC to study voice and join other musicians in the music business. Brenda studied under the direction of June Monterio, a nationally recognized vocal coach.
After her studies, she began to sing with the girl's group The Toys which had the hit song “A Lovers Concerto.” Brenda, now discovered, began performing with The Marvelettes which had the hit song “Please Mr. Postman.” Her career started to blossom and she went on tour with additional groups including; The Temptation, The Four Tops., The Crystals, Bo Didley, Ricky Nelson of the Ozzie And Harriett show, Desmond Wilson of the Sandford and Son show, and many more.
Ms. Watty now is in Sarasota, Florida traveling and performing in her one Women Show “It’s My Time”, as well as, singing with various local groups in the Jazz, Pop, Dance, and R&B genres.
