Special double feature showing “The Elephant Whisperers” (2022) and “The Last Repair Shop” (2023). Academy Award-winning “The Elephant Whisperers” is about a couple in South India who devote their lives to caring for an orphaned baby elephant, forging a family like no other that tests the barrier between the human and the animal world. “The Last Repair Shop” tells the story of four unassuming heroes who ensure no student is deprived of the joy of music. It is also a reminder of how music can be the best medicine, stress reliever, and even an escape from poverty. Julie Cotton, the Connections series creator and host, leads an engaging conversation about the films’ content and impact which forges deeper learning and social connections.
