A historical fiction, the story traces the steps of Angelina Carpello as she navigates her life sitting on her stoop on Conselyea Street in the Italian neighborhood of Williamsburg Brooklyn during the 1950s-60s-70s! As Angie grows up playing stickball and games like Ringolevio and Johnny-on-the-Pony with neighborhood friends, she is tasked to tackle Mob mentality, Catholic Church vagaries and Old-World Italian culture. When she meets a Chinese man Wengchan Liang, a hitman/runner for the Mafia, their collision course rescues her from a life-threatening situation and finds for him a long-sought redemption.
