The Ringling and SRQ Arts Presenters Presents:
Firstworld // MIAMI //
Firstworld is the moniker for South Florida artist/producer Kris Alvarez. Firstworld began as an outlet for Alvarez to write darker, more lofi songs than what he was producing for his band at the time Sigh Kicks. After Sigh Kicks split, Firstworld became Alvarez's main project. Firstworld's debut self-titled single has been featured on indie music blogs such as BIRP.FM and Indie Shuffle, as well as on Spotify's Fresh Finds playlist. Firstworld's sound is likened to chillwave, reminiscent of early Washed Out and Toro y Moi.
Brother Brother //SRQ //
A new generation indie folk. The energy of the sibling duo brings light to today’s roots music revival. Singer songwriters Bradley and Brett Anderson have original harmonies and songs ranging from foot-stomping Mumford-like melodies to indie rock beats and distortion featured on acoustic and electric guitars, banjos, mandolin, and a slamming bass drum.
Physical Plant // SRQ //
Physical Plant is a collaborative rock project from SRQ that serves up high-energy indie psych with nary a dreamy synth in sight. Caegan Quimby's garage-prog tangles with Josh Scheible's soul fusion over the assertive and intricate rhythm stylings of David Baker (bass) and Ryan McCarthy (drums). Their two EP's, Are They Dangerous? and Wisdom Tooth are available for streaming or free download at physicalplant.bandcamp.com
"Sarasota four-piece [Physical Plant] writes and performs an intriguing brand of psychedelic rock that melds freak-outs with more focused indie rock, creating sounds that are familiar and fresh, trippy and propulsive." Wade Tatangelo, The Ticket Sarasota
"Physical Plant performed an electrifying set that overflowed with melodious, four-part vocal harmonies, galvanizing guitar solos, heaving bass lines, compelling keyboards and thunderou
