Ask the locals for a great place to eat with a great view and they’ll tell you to go to “The Roo with a View!” Woody’s River Roo is the dining destination for delicious food, outstanding service and a spectacular view. Woody’s offers a little of everything, which is why everyone enjoys the eclectic, family operated restaurant. Live music can be heard 6 days a week and Karaoke is showing off talent on Tuesday nights. There are plenty of tables with outside seating as well as, indoor dining and an almost private island with a Tiki Bar! Woody’s has a great selection of liquor to compliment its full bar. The fun and relaxed “Old Floridian” atmosphere is revealed by the outgoing and friendly staff that is eager to help you choose your meal or where to visit while you’re here.
The menu is well rounded and features Black Angus Burgers, Fresh Seafood and Homemade Soups. For the adventurous eaters Woody’s Summer Menu specializes in exotic burgers such as The Ostrich, Bison, Kangaroo, Buffalo and Elk. Grouper is the featured fish, presented as blackened, grilled or fried in Woody’s secret beer batter recipe. Ask the regulars and they’ll let you in on the mouth watering Grouper Reuben, with its homemade sauce and cole slaw in between 2 fresh pieces of marble rye. If the breeze gets a bit chilly of the Manatee River, you can always warm up with the homemade chili, New England Clam Chowder or Chef’s Soup of the Day. The staple on the menu is Woody’s Famous Fish and Chips. Bite size beer battered Haddock is accompanied with Woody’s homemade cole slaw and fries, and yes malt vinegar is at easy reach for a little kick!
Woody’s River Roo is a family friendly place where everyone is welcome. The full menu is served from 11am to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and till 11pm on Friday and Saturday. We offer live music 5 days a week with two bands or acts playing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
