Do you love the ocean? Are you between 8 and 12 years old? Then this camp is for you! Come and get fishy with us at the Manatee Marine Explorers Day Camp.
Event Details
Students will become official "Manatee Marine Explorers" as they are introduced to the marine environment through expert demonstrations, underwater videos, games, crafts and hands-on activities. Campers will investigate local fish biology and conservation with Dr. Angela Collins, Florida Sea Grant Agent, who will demonstrate a fish dissection and provide specimen examples of unique marine life. Environmental Horticulture Agent, Michelle Atkinson, will introduce the importance of clean water and lead students through a lesson in dip-netting local critters at Emerson Point. Through hands-on activities, campers will use STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills to discover facts about our local marine environment.
Seating is limited to 25 participants, so reserve your space today!
Please bring a spare set of shoes and clothes that can get wet. Students will be wading in the water in the afternoon.
All students are required to complete participation forms (please print and bring with you on the day of camp.)
Lunch and snacks will be provided. Should your child have special dietary requirements please plan to provide their snacks and lunch.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Yes, students must be between 8 and 12 years of age. All Students are required to have a completed set of participation forms.
What's the refund policy?
Tickets are refundable up to 30 days prior to the event (July 10 is the last day you can receive a refund).
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, you do not need to bring your ticket but you DO need to complete the participation forms.
