If the first weekend is any indication, April is going to be a great month for Sarasota residents. This is the weekend to take advantage of the events that the city has to offer. With art, fun, and Easter as the focus this weekend, there’s something going on that you don’t want to miss!

Ringling Underground April 2019

The Ringling is hosting a night of music, dance, and art. With a cash bar and performances featuring local talent, this event is one that isn’t always available for Sarasota residents to experience. Beginning at 8 p.m. and ending at 11 p.m. on April 4, you can attend solo, with friends, or bring the entire family out to experience art like never before.

Sarasota Chalk Festival 2019

One of Sarasota’s favorite festivals is back! This year’s theme for the chalk fest is Garden of Wonders, which ties together the natural world with the imaginations of local artists. Walk along Burns Square Historic District and see the amazing transformation from mundane to extraordinary. Instead of simply looking at the artwork, you’ll get to experience it coming to life with 3D illusions that transport you somewhere else. Visit any time from 8 a.m. on April 5 to 6 p.m. on April 7.

6th Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt

Easter doesn’t have to be a child’s holiday, and this Sarasota event will remind you that Easter can be fun for adults as well. On April 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. head out to The Children's Garden and Art Center for an adults-only celebration. You must be over 21 years of age to attend and enjoy the full dinner, drinks, and dessert. With a silent auction and raffle tickets, you’re sure to bring home something. Proceeds benefit the Children’s Garden.

Wine on the Water

Looking for a way to relax and enjoy the beautiful Sarasota landscape? This is the perfect event for you. At the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on the afternoon of April 7, you have the opportunity to drink some wine and listen to music all while staring out at the gorgeous view of the water. Take some time for yourself this weekend, and leave feeling refreshed.

School of Russian Ballet presents 'Cinderella'

Experience a classic fairytale told in a fun, new way on April 7 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Head out to the Sarasota Opera to enjoy a full-length ballet performed by the Schoo.l of Russian Ballet. This performance will provide a family-friendly experience complete with music and costumes. Tickets range from $15 to $35.

Visit Bunnyville & the Easter Bunny

Looking for a way to commemorate your family’s Easter this year? Visit The Mall at University Town Center from now until April 20 to have photos taken with the Easter Bunny! Find him in the fantastic Easter Village featuring fun everyday buildings themed for Easter. Complete with interactive activities for your little ones, this is the Sarasota Easter event you can’t miss!

Sarasota always has something going on, but this weekend has it all! Wine, Easter celebrations, art, and theater fill the weekend. Are you looking to enjoy some art or wine? Are you looking for a photo opportunity with your family and the Easter Bunny himself? You can do all that this weekend right here in Sarasota.
