One of the best things about living in Sarasota is all the fresh, local seafood available to enjoy whenever you want. And who doesn't like good music? This weekend, locals and out-of-towners alike have the opportunity to celebrate these two loves at the 4th Annual Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival.

Festivities begin on Friday, January 18 at 4 p.m. in Downtown Sarasota on Gulf Stream and last all weekend to Sunday, January 20 at 6 p.m. Admission is free for everyone, and VIP Tent admission is available for $75. With a seating area that keeps you shaded while still providing optimal viewing of live performances, VIP ticket holders will be treated to an open bar and a staff ready to serve you at the festival.

Regardless of your ticket status, everyone will have lots of fun at the Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival. The seafood is cooked fresh at the festival using only sustainable ingredients and resources found directly from the Gulf Coast local to the Sarasota area. Seafood items include everything from crawfish with Cajun flavor to raw bars.

If you don’t enjoy seafood, don’t let that stop you from coming. There are meat and vegetarian options as well as side dishes and desserts. The beer garden and full bars will also be serving drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic throughout the event.

The Sarasota Seafood and Music also celebrates music of every genre. Every day, there will be live performances from some of the best Florida musicians around. Some performances feature musicians and bands local to Sarasota. No matter what kind of music you enjoy, you’re bound to find something that makes you tap your feet.

Music styles cover R&B, rock, Jazz, and Caribbean style, and there will be a few Florida tribute bands playing as well. Over the course of the weekend, performers will include The Freecoasters, US Stones, Kettle of Fish, Bob Marley Tribute Band, Sarasota Steel Pan Band, The Billy Rice Band, and more.

The Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival is hosted by the Sarasota Downtown Merchant Association. They’re partnering this year with the Human Society, which will have their Big Mac adoption center open onsite, so you’re able to show your support of the organization by just saying hello or taking home a new best friend.

This festival welcomes everyone in and around Sarasota to enjoy a weekend dedicated to local cuisine and musicians. Join other locals for a few days of fun and celebration this weekend, and bring your appetite!
