The 9th annual 5K family event in Sarasota is perfect to counteract the extra carbs that Thanksgiving brings. Starting at 7:330 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota and continuing over the Ringling Bridge, this race welcomes all age groups.
Registration is $40 for those over 15 years old and $25 for 15 and under, and the fee includes a long-sleeve shirt in a comfortable athletic fabric. Register now as an individual, or register as a group to save $3 off each participant’s registration. 100% proceeds will go to the ALSO youth organization.
All participants under 15 years old will receive a participant medal. For the rest of the runners, there will be male and female winners in all age groups as well as overall male and female winners.
After the race, join the other runners for the post-race party with coffee, beer, snack, and music!

At 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, you can join a group of runners and walkers at Nathan Benderson Park. The park and Fit2Run are joining efforts to host this event.
Money raised from this Thanksgiving event in Sarasota will benefit the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Association, which strives to increase the quality of life for Sarasota residents.

Enjoy a gorgeous four-mile nature walk this Thanksgiving in Sarasota at Myakka River State Park at 8:30 a.m. Come prepared with quality walking shoes, plenty of water, sunscreen, and insect repellent. If you love being around crowds and getting your fill of good food and drinks, you’ll definitely enjoy this annual Thanksgiving event in Sarasota. Beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, the street of Siesta Key Village will be filled with people looking to party.
During the Thanksgiving Eve Bar Crawl, the restaurants, bars, and pubs in the area will have special offers for food and drinks. Streets close to ensure the safety of the attendees, and there’s no designated end time, so party on!
From 6 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21 to midnight on Thanksgiving morning, the downtown streets of Bradenton will be closed for this Thanksgiving event.
Just north of Sarasota, Bradenton’s Main Street Live Kickoff features restaurants, bars, and pubs all in downtown. Food trucks will be parked along the streets, and local vendors will be selling their art and crafts. Rye Road will be providing live music for the night, so you definitely won't want to miss out on this party!
