Celebrate your July 4th this year on Florida's gulf coast! Sarasota is offering a host of fun July 4th events and firework displays sure to get you in the patriotic spirit. Choose from a cookout, rooftop parties or a symphony show!
Sarasota's main fireworks display closes the Powerboat Grand Prix Festival at 9 p.m. on the 4th. Enjoy the waterfront views in Island Park and the tremendous pyrotechnics display.
While there is plenty of seating available in Island Park, the fireworks display can be seen from anywhere in downtown Sarasota or even out on a boat in Sarasota Bay. This privately-funded event benefits Suncoast Charities for Children.
At approximately the same time, the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce will be shooting off fireworks on the beach just south of downtown. The fireworks display originates just north of the volleyball courts, making the best places to see them anywhere south and along Crescent Beach or in a boat on the Gulf or Intracoastal.
Sponsors have a special viewing area that opens at 6 p.m. and includes parking, beverages, and snacks. Overall, between 20-30,000 people are expected to hit the beach and check out the 28th annual show.

General public tickets are $35, members gain admission for $25 and children 12 years and younger are $10. For $100, you can purchase a Shelby Experience pass that includes valet parking, open bar, food and a select viewing area.
Rooftop Bar Parties
Two of downtown Sarasota's most popular bars, Louie's Modern and Office Bar srq., are holding rooftop parties for the 4th. Office Bar encourages you to bring out your blankets and beach chairs for their third annual event on the top of their parking garage.
They will have a limited bar, a variety of craft beers from The Beer Box and barbecue from Mouthole BBQ. Louie's hosts their Red, White, and YOU! shindig on their rooftop and they are running specials like $2 tacos and $4 draft beers.
