It may look like June outside, however, its the fantastic month of October which is soon coming to an end. Coming into the 19th day of Halloween, we've still got over a week to schedule dentist visits for the copious amounts of candy soon to be consumed. Bayfest 2017

The 17th annual Bayfest is happening Saturday in the city of Anna Maria. This day festival will have fun for the entire family. On the list of events includes a classic car show, music performances, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and a kid zone. Admission is free. 

Sarasota Celtic Music Festival

Join the New World Celts Sarasota for their 2nd annual festival, Saturday, October 21 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.  There will be performances from numerous bands, a children's area, dog parade, food and more! Discounted tickets are available online and children ages 12 and under get in free. 

Ringling International Arts Festival 2017

Enjoy a wide array of expressive art Wednesday, October 18 through Saturday, October 21 at Ringling Museum of Art. There will be affordably priced dance and theatrical performances for you to enjoy the day. Performance tickets grant free admission to the Museum of Art, Circus Museum and first-floor walkthrough of Ca'd'Zan. Food is available on site. 

Lakewood Ranch 3rd Annual Block Party

Join Main Street at  Lakewood Ranch as they kick off their tour of homes with the 3rd annual block party celebration this Friday, October 20 from 5-8 p.m. This party will have vendors, beer, and food. Live music will be performed by Doug Deming and the Jeweltones and local artists on the new Performing Arts stage. Admission is free at this Top 10 Things to Do this Weekend event  in Sarasota  Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and dogs are welcome on a leash. 

5th Annual Haunted Trails

With it being October, you can expect to see some Halloween events included in the Top 10 Things to do This Weekend in Sarasota list. This festive, kid-friendly event features three trails, The Trick or Treat Trail, Haunted Trail, and Haunted Pavilion, all of which will provide a scare. There will be hot dogs, drinks, s'mores, snacks, and a pumpkin patch photo booth. 

Halloween Candlelight Cartoon Tour at Gamble Plantation

Be a kid and bring the kids to this fun tour that will have treats for the whole family. This year's theme is cartoon characters, so everyone is encouraged to dress up as their favorite character. Tickets are $6 per person. 

Night of Fish, Fun & Fright

Children of all ages are invited to dress up in a costume for this freakishly fun event Friday, October 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. There will be a “Coffin Creek,” “Diner of the Dead,” mad science experiment, and a signature underwater pumpkin carving activity in the shark habitats. Online tickets are available for $10 from Sept 1-Oct 19. Admission is $12 at the door for members and $14 for non-members. 

Sarasota Pride 2017

Resist aversion and celebrate pride at the Sarasota Pride Fest this Saturday, October 21 at the JD Hamel Park from 12-6 p.m. There will be food, drinks, and drag performances. Admission is free.

Sarasota Garden Club's Annual Plant Sale & Garden Fest

Calling all green thumbs! On Saturday, October 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. thousands of Florida-friendly plants will be for sale at the Sarasota Garden Club. There will be herbs, palms, ornamental trees, grasses, shades, succulents, patio and flowering plants and more! Also free workshops and vendors with awesome stuff.

Sun Fiesta

Join the Women's Sertoma Club for a family-friendly, three-day event this weekend starting Friday, October 20 at 5 p.m. The celebration includes a parade, bed races, arts & crafts, music, dancing and more! The first fiesta happened in 1973 and had become one of the most praised events for the citizens of Venice.
