In the heart of Downtown Sarasota lies the legendary Florida Studio Theatre where professional performances are held throughout the year across their campus village. Their location near Bayfront allows it to be an ideal place to visit if you’re in city and currently enjoys more than 32,000 subscribers and 200,000 attendees per year because of their incredible plays and workshops.

Since opening its doors in 1973, the Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota has produced a great number of plays within their campus village comprised of the Goldstein and John C. Court Cabarets, the Bowne’s Lab Theatre, and the historic Keating and Gompertz Theatres. This year, visitors will be able to enjoy many professional productions such as Always …Patsy Cline, Murder of Two, and Other People’s Money. For those that prefer cabaret, check out the Florida Studio Theatre summer calendar that includes upcoming shows like Carole’s Kings, Music of the Night, and Gilbert and Sullivan Unplugged.

In addition to these upcoming shows, the Florida Studio Theatre also features improv shows such as FST Freestyle and the 10th Anniversary Sarasota Improv Festival running through July 12 through 14. The campus also highlights short plays created by some of the brightest young talent in the country as well as other special events like their FST Forum and Florida Studio Theatre Write-A-Play program.
