Snorkeling

If you are a fan of snorkeling, Sarasota is the place for you. One of the premier spots is off Crescent Beach in Siesta Key. Snorkeling is great for anyone who is intrigued by mesmerizing oceanic views and who does not want to spend time learning to scuba dive. Point of Rocks is the main snorkeling attraction since it's known for its terrific coral reefs. Another beautiful spot to snorkel in Sarasota is Nokomis Beach in South Casey Key. Although not known for its coral reefs, it is known for its wide variety of fish making for a terrific snorkeling sight. Just tie up your boat and enjoy yourself!

Sandbar Exploration

Anyone who has had the pleasure of boating through Sarasota has been fortunate enough to experience a sandbar exploration. The waves and currents produce these unbelievable passages, almost acting as independent islands. This is the ideal spot to tie up your boat to a dock during low tide and party with friends and family. Bring your dogs too because there is plenty of room for them to play and swim!

Fishing

It is almost impossible to be a boat lover and not enjoy the art of fishing. Boat owners are no different in Sarasota where The Middle Grounds is the unspoken gem of a fishing spot. Here you’ll find anything from seatrout and redfish to snook and cobia. These are what is known as prize fish which makes this spot all the more popular among locals and visitors.

Wildlife/Spoil Islands

Although some people enjoy physical activity while boating such as fishing, jet skiing, etc., some people such as myself are just trying to relax and take in the sights. People in Sarasota feel similarly leading to a widespread appreciation for wildlife photography. Some of the best photographs are taken on spoil islands where visitors are now allowed to spend their days on. These patches of land made up of rocks, sand, and trees might sound uninteresting to some however the wildlife presented here is truly unfathomable. You will have the pleasure of seeing anything from porpoises to batfish so bring your camera!
