UPDATE – March 5, 2021
The City of Sarasota and Sarasota County have rescinded their ordinance requiring face masks or coverings in public places. However, at Sarasota Jungle Gardens we are still encouraging those who visit to wear face coverings in any indoor areas of our facility to help curb the spread of Covid 19. While we recognize that it is a personal choice and not a mandated one, we continue to encourage personal responsibility for the public health benefit. As vaccines are made more widely available and we receive customer feedback we will revisit this position. The following is what you can expect.
Face coverings will be recommended for all SJG adult visitors while indoors. Children under 18 are specifically excluded and will not be required to wear face coverings. Guests are encouraged to bring their own covering, but we will provide one to those who do not have one at no charge.
As an 90% outdoor facility, with more than 10 acres of space there are many ways to social distance. However, in areas that are potentially more crowded (i.e., show areas), face coverings are strongly recommended even while outdoors. We will make announcements periodically to remind guests.
Guests are encouraged to purchase their admission tickets online via our website - sarasotajunglegardens.com for contactless transactions.
All our employees will always wear face coverings, whether indoor or outdoor, when closely interacting with guests.
If anyone is sick, or believe they have been exposed to Covid 19, please do not visit SJG until you have been cleared by a medical professional. As always it remains a personal decision whether to visit any public area where exposure risks to any illness may exist.
