Community-building for the vegan movement in Sarasota.
Event Details
This is the second annual vegan celebration on thanksgiving day in Sarasota by this organizer. The first event in 2017 drew 35 vegan enthusiasts. Let's make this one even bigger!
This will be a cooked and raw vegan potluck. See details below. Be mindful of allergen ingredients.
This location is at the Waldemere Fire Station 2 Community Room on the second floor:
2070 Waldemere Street, Sarasota. Parking is limited to a dozen or so vehicles. There is parking on the adjacent street in the businesses as well as the bank on the corner. They should be closed on Thanksgiving Day. It is encouraged to walk, bike, bus, carpool, or Uber/List to the event. No one is responsible for any vehicles being ticketed or towed except the owner/driver.
Premises Rules:
No alcohol permitted on premises; per the Sarasota County Fire Chief.
No electric or gas appliances permitted; per the Sarasota County Fire Chief.
No violent or disruptive behavior allowed.
Event Policy:
Read before accepting invitation. These will be enforced.
No other entity or person can create an event of their own for this one. Other groups can share this event on their page via the link, but no one else can invite people to this event through their group or personal page exclusively. Everyone attending must select that they are going through this event page.
This is a public event however, only those who brought a dish according to these given event instructions will receive a food ticket. Exceptions for families are made in the same below instructions. For those who do not bring a vegan dish you may join the event, but a ticket for serving yourself is $15 per plate. These tickets are served after all previous tickets have their first pass. Funds will go toward costs and future events.
Everyone is asked to bring one homemade dish with enough to serve 8-10 people one serving each; approximately 1 cup. Plan to spend at least $20-30. Please make an ingredients list on a 3” x 5” card with your name. Bring your own serving utensils. The same rule goes if you buy store bought prepared food. This dish must be vegan without exception.
