The best thing about Florida is sipping cool drinks on the beach, so kick off summer with the Catalina Cocktail Mixer. Hosted at St. Pete’s Albert Whitted Park on the water May 11 from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. this mixer invites you to grab your finest sport coat or classiest cocktail dress and step out into the sun for an afternoon of great drinks and delicious bites. It won’t be all food and drinks though, there’ll be plenty of games like giant Jenga, corn hole, and beer pong to keep you busy. There’s not party without music, so expect plenty of tunes to rock out to. If all of that doesn’t sound like enough fun to make you get out of the house, the mixer is also supporting The Gasparilla Film Festival.
There will be more than 30 cocktails to taste from local vendors all around the bay. Enjoy drinks from Gaspar’s Rum, Mermaid Vodka, Original Jel Shot Co., Touch Vodka, and Flying Boat Brewing among many others along with frozen margaritas and daiquiris. To pair with your drinks, local food trucks will provide all of their best grub. You’ll have to stop by the Bacon Boss, and pair your bacon with Tornado Potato, then sweeten the deal with Craving Donuts or Not You Mama’s Pancakes.

They started in 2011 hosting a festival in Lakewood Ranch, FL and have only grown in the past eight years to host major events in Tampa, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Fort Myers, Sarasota and Bradenton.
