Mote’s World Oceans Day event will spotlight the ocean's deep connection to the human spirit and the boundless inspirational power of our natural world's greatest resource. The family festival is free with regular paid admission to Mote Aquarium and is free for Mote Members.
Mote Marine Laboratory is pleased to theme this year's World Oceans Day celebration 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, piggybacking off of Asolo Repertory Theatre's family-friendly summer production. The play, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, plunges you into the pages of Jules Verne's classic science fiction story. Brought to life through a mix of unforgettable characters, eye-popping projections and interactive technology, this time-honored tale explores our place in time and space, and illuminates the mysteries of the deep blue sea. The show will run from June 7 through July 1 at Asolo Repertory Theatre (5555 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota). To purchase tickets, visit asolorep.org or call (941) 351-8000.
